The Blue Ridge Veterans Day Parade took place on November 11, 2014. The parade, showing our gratitude to the ones who have served ran from the Gazebo in downtown Blue Ridge through town to Veterans Memorial Park near Fannin County Middle School.
The parade included the North Georgia Honor Guard and a military color guard.

Once the parade was over a service was held at the Veterans Memorial Park.

The Fannin County Middle School Band was waiting on site to help show the Veterans our appreciation and play the National Anthem for the event.

Sitting in the park was a new sight to see. A Huey helicopter that was used in the Vietnam War is now a permeant fixture to the site.

Keynote Speaker Jeff O’Neal reminded the crowds of the true meaning of the day. During his speech he let the audience know that only about 10% of the population has served to give us the freedoms we love and sometimes take for granted.

Grand Marshall of the Parade JC Wood was given a commemorative plaque for his service along with a firing of a 21 gun salute to end the festivities.
